The Eyeshadow That Makes The Effort For You

Apologies for the more-than-lame title, but when you've finished reading this post hopefully you'll understand. I'm definitely one for creating a neutral eyeshadow look with two or three brown/taupe/champagne shades but sometimes ain't nobody got time fo' dat. Reviewed to death, but I felt it should still get a mention on The Beauty Scrapbook, I'm talking about the Maybelline EyeStudio Colour Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadows.  Specifically, I mean the shade On and On Bronze which is probably a favourite of everybody and their dog by now.

Going from Day to Night: Makeup

We often get stuck in those situations when you're just chillin' out or you're still at work and someone says 'let's go out for a drink.. are you ready?' - err no! There are a few products that can easily take your everyday look to something a bit more evening-appropriate. These are things that you could pop into your beauty bag just in case something crops up.

What You NEED In Your Wardrobe

We all have them, we all need them. There are some that last us years, some that last us a season. They get us through those last minutes rushes to get ready and get glam in under half an hour. Wardrobe staples - where would we be without them?

The Transition Boots

I love winter and autumn fashion. The jumpers, the scarves, the darker colours, I adore it all! But most importantly, of course, is the boots. The worst part about warm weather is not being able to wear boots without getting horribly sweaty feet (sexy, I know). However, boots have made a leap onto the shelves this year with some gorgeous cut-out details making them super sun-friendly. With the way the weather is at the moment, they're ideal.

Fashion & Lifestyle Exhibition: Tickets

I've got something a little different for today.  If you didn't already know, the Fashion & Lifestyle Exhibition is coming to Manchester for the first time, which is great news for northerners like me!  If you're outside of London it can be hard to come across great events such as this since there are few and far between elsewhere.  I am now part of the official blogger team for the event and I can't wait until it opens on Saturday 11th October 2014! Better yet, it continues through Sunday 12th October as well!  If you're interested then get yourself signed up for tickets TODAY as it's completely free. You'd get to wander around the exhibits and play nice, maybe see a cheeky fashion show here and there. Still with me? Get your free tickets here

The Beauty Blogger Tag

I thought it was time for a tag post, just in case any of you fancy learning a little something extra about me than what I think about all things beauty.

A Very Berry Time

If you have been anywhere near Instagram lately you will have probably noticed that everyone is going autumn/fall crazy already. It's not surprising that Starbucks have brought the Pumpkin Spice Latte back earlier than usual. In the beauty world however, we're all thinking "I can wear berry lipstick again, woohoo!" -insert unified fist pump here-. As you're probably all aware by now, I have fair skin and this means dark lip colours can sometimes be hard to wear as they can look a little in yo' face, but I think I have found my one.

A Nifty Little Brush Set

Until I ventured into the world of online beauty I used my fingers religiously to apply makeup where I could, which is sometimes OK but it can leave you with an uneven application which you may think looks fantastic at the time but inevitably the photographs tell a different story. For me it's all about the base, once you've got a smooth, even surface to work with everything else seems to just fall into place. If you start off with a badly applied base then makeup just isn't going to behave on top of that. Last year I picked up the Real Techniques Core Collection Kit just thinking it would suffice for the time being but it turned out to be much more than that.

Going Matte with Revlon

I have always been a creamy lip product kinda girl. I love how nourishing they can feel on the lips and how they give a fuller look and so much more kissable. However, matte lips are everywhere lately and a lot of people rock them so well. So, I took the plunge and decided to give the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms a whirl in a few different shades.

Smoothin' Out

When the weather is slightly warmer I seriously need to work on my bodycare. I often neglect it but when it's on display in the warmer months with the shorter clothes I simply have to start caring as I am notorious for leaving it until the actual day I decide to put on a pair of shorts. My routine really doesn't involve much, in fact I only use two products and occasionally a third but I thought I'd share it with you just to show you don't need to fork out an arm and a leg to be smooth and prepared for 'legs out' days.

How can a beauty blogger have a favourite lipstick? Easy, it's the one that you reach for when in doubt, it's the one that you always get compliments for and it's the one that you know already that you will replace when it eventually dies. For me, that lipstick is MAC Creme Cup.

The Bronzer for Pale Skin

If you're pale then you know the struggle. The struggle of finding a bronzer that doesn't make you look orange or muddy, a feat that many try and fail at, including myself. However, I believe I have found the one, the one that not only accentuates my cheekbones but makes me look a little healthier and adds the perfect amount of colour to my face. It's got to be The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzer in the shade 01 Light Matte.

The budget cleansing oil

So I used to be one of those girls who solely removed makeup with wipes, and no I don't mean the Ole Henrikson Cleansing Cloths. I mean Boots' own brand face wipes tugging on my eyes for years on end. Don't judge me. Throughout the past year however, I have been attempting to be much kinder to my skin and give it all the TLC it needs but with so many cleansing products out there I had no idea what to even consider slapping on my face every morning and evening. The idea of a cleansing oil reeled me in ever so easily and this product explains why I was right to be.

Shoes, OMG shoes!

Does anybody remember that YouTube video? Good times. Well ladies, I don't know about you but I always have this struggle - finding something to put on my feet when it's a little hot up in hurr'. No? OK. Hopefully I can successfully give you some inspiration for the up and coming hot weather concerning your footwear instead of the same old flipflops and wedges I usually go for. I'll admit I'm not very daring or bold when it comes to my footwear, if I could wear the same pair of shoes with every outfit I probably would. This year I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone a bit and follow a couple of trends this year and fit in with the cool kids (as if).

How NOT to nourish your shine

So my hair has been feeling drier than the deserts of far away lands. Not a good look, I know. I had finished up my bottle of the Aussie Three Minute Miracle Shine which really did provide more shine to my hair and made it feel a lot softer. Being a beauty blogger and all I decided it was time to try something new. The V05 Nourish My Shine shampoo and conditioner made their way into my basket, mainly because they were on offer.

Miracle in a tube?

When I hear or read the word 'miracle' my mind is filled with wonderful images of miracle healings, crying statues and me posting regularly. Get it? You know, because I haven't been posting for a while. So while you're rolling around the floor laughing at that last joke (can it even be classed as a joke?) that I cracked, let me tell you all about Garnier's Miracle Face Cream.

Some changes around here

Long time no see everyone, a fault on my part obviously. If you read my last post back in March you will know that things have been pretty hectic for me. This is being typed out en route to a new city where I am currently house hunting. Exciting stuff, yes? Having never lived away from home before this is a huge step for me and it is taking up most of my time, not to mention that my work is busier than ever leaving me only an occasional break. I can't wait to move!

Where have I been?

I know I know, it's been well over a week since I last posted. I have had a pretty stressful last couple of weeks. It literally felt like the world was ganging up on me, but I won't bore you with the details as some people have it much worse than I do. Hopefully I can now get back on track and continue with regular posting. Thank you so much to all of you who have stuck with me! To get back into the swing of things I thought I'd give you guys a glimpse of what I've recently bought and what I've been testing out.
