Smoothin' Out

When the weather is slightly warmer I seriously need to work on my bodycare. I often neglect it but when it's on display in the warmer months with the shorter clothes I simply have to start caring as I am notorious for leaving it until the actual day I decide to put on a pair of shorts. My routine really doesn't involve much, in fact I only use two products and occasionally a third but I thought I'd share it with you just to show you don't need to fork out an arm and a leg to be smooth and prepared for 'legs out' days.

First of all, my number one tool, which I think everyone owns, is a net sponge. They are so handy for cleansing purposes as they get so much more lather out of a shower gel than a regular sponge as well exfoliating. More gentle than exfoliating gloves but still abrasive enough to help get rid of the gross dead skin. I always have a good scrub on my skin every time I shower then I exfoliate with a body scrub every other shower. I usually just take a dollop (best word ever) of body scrub and work on the troublesome areas. I hate to think what I look like when I'm doing my back - all mangled and awkward no doubt. My favourite scrub at the moment is Soap & Glory's Scrub of Your Life - sounds important, no? It's a good all-rounder that isn't too harsh on the skin but still gets the job done whilst smelling deliciously fruity.

After washing the remnants of the body scrub away, a challenge for me apparently as I always find some more after I've got out of the shower, it's time to apply a moisturiser! This just ensures that your skin will not only be extra smooth but it will be hydrated. After all, scrubbing the life out of it does leave it feeling a little thirsty. During summer I like to use a thick body butter so my skin is perfectly smooth. My pick of the moment is The Body Shop Body Butter in coconut. It's very thick in consistency and it does take some elbow grease to get it all rubbed in but it doesn't feel greasy afterwards and it leaves you feeling silky smooth smelling like a massive coconut - it's good, promise.
