What You NEED In Your Wardrobe

We all have them, we all need them. There are some that last us years, some that last us a season. They get us through those last minutes rushes to get ready and get glam in under half an hour. Wardrobe staples - where would we be without them?
Jeans, who can't live without jeans? Dress them up, dress them down, pair them with almost anything! If in doubt, throw on a pair of jeans. At the moment I'm loving the cut-out look on jeans, especially at the knee. Currently my favourite pair of jeans are my Rip Bleach Leigh Skinny Jeans from Topshop, they are so soft and light that they can still be worn easily throughout the year. These go great with pastel colours.
Spaghetti Strap Tops have got to be in your wardrobe. They are so easy to throw on with shorts or a skirt, especially if they are just basic neutral colours. After being enabled by Anna at ViviannaDoesMakeup, I picked up the River Island Strappy Cami in both black and white. The strap detailing at the front just gives them a little extra something and they are so wearable both casually during the day and at night paired with a gorgeous skirt. Floaty and light; these are such a dream to wear.
Blazers are such an effortless way to instantly add chic to an outfit. Got a meeting to run to? Blazer. Family occasion? Blazer. Going to work? Blazer. Sorted. I would recommend a white blazer if you're looking to be ultra-chic, be wary of stains! At the moment I am rocking my pastel pink oversized blazer from New Look. It adds colour to dull outfits and the fact it's oversized means it's comfortable and ideal as that perfect little layer when it's maybe not so warm outside.

Court Shoes are omnipresent, everyone wears them, everyone has a pair and they will never die out. I needn't really say much as you all know what I'm talking about, but they really are the bees' knees. My favourite pairs are my black suede pair from Dorothy Perkins and my nude patent pair from Deichmann. Simple and plain these suit many different occasions and whilst these may not last forever, more court shoes will definitely replace them.
Black Handbag - I have owned one of these since I was 14 and girls started using handbags instead of backpacks for school. I have gone through many over the years but the style remains the same. A simple black handbag will never be unacceptable. Mine is currently hidden in the back of my wardrobe but it is from Next and it's my go-to bag when I've got plenty of stuff to be carting around with me because it expands and has long handles!
Without these basics, your wardrobe would simply not be complete!

  3. So glad I have most of these items check listed in my wardrobe. I have the same New Look blazer but in grey and it is my favourite piece of clothing at the moment. I'm known for wearing blazers among my family and friends because I wear them so often- they're easy to pair up and pair down on any occasion.

I also recently bought a Tory Burch black bag with straps for uni :) x

  6. I haven't heard of the term court shoes, but I'm assuming is a term to describe simple heels that you could wear in a professional environment? But yes, we all need spaghetti strap tops to supplement our looks. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯
